Concepts

Understand the core building blocks of Lemonade — workspaces, teams, tickets, projects, and cycles.

This page explains the key concepts in Lemonade and how they relate to each other.

Workspaces

A workspace is the top-level container for your organization. All teams, projects, tickets, and members belong to a workspace. Each workspace has its own settings, billing plan, and URL slug.

Teams

Teams are groups of members within a workspace. They help you organize work by department, squad, or function. Each team can have its own tickets and projects.

Tickets

Tickets are the fundamental unit of work. Each ticket has a status, priority, assignee, and can include labels, attachments, and comments. Tickets progress through statuses like Backlog, Todo, In Progress, and Done.

Projects

Projects group related tickets under a shared goal. They have their own status (Planned, In Progress, Completed) and health indicators (On Track, At Risk, Off Track) to help you monitor progress at a glance.

Cycles

Cycles are time-boxed iterations (sprints). Configure their duration (1-8 weeks), start day, and optional cooldown periods. Tickets are assigned to cycles for focused, incremental delivery.

Labels

Labels are customizable tags you can attach to tickets for categorization and filtering. They are workspace-wide and can have colors and icons.

Members and Roles

Members are users within a workspace. Each member has a role — Owner, Admin, or Member — that determines their permissions. Roles can be customized per workspace.
